Lunada Bay Tile Unveils Unique, Elegant New Shapes for Luce Glass Mosaic Collection

(Harbor City, CA, November 30, 2017) A vivid interplay of color and shape comes alive in the latest additions to Lunada Bay Tile’s Luce glass mosaic tile collection. With semi-opaque glass and playful forms, new Feather, Fin, Clipper, and Hex shapes shimmer in the light, much like the sun glittering across moving water. As light bounces off the surface, the mosaics absorb and reflect nuances of the colors around them.

Three of the new shapes are distinctive in form: Feather features the wispy silhouette of its namesake; it takes on different interpretations, from the look of waves to the reflection of roof tiles, depending on its orientation and viewpoint. Fin offers a flirty tilt on traditional geometry, with an elongated, asymmetric shape reminiscent of bamboo. Clipper also plays with traditional rectilinear forms; its crisp, clipped end combines into bold visuals appearing to be both random and organized. As each shape’s unique pattern and texture combine with variegated color blends, an elegant flow emerges across the wall or floor that evokes the feel of sunlight on water. The fourth shape, 2” Hex, expresses these same effects in an ever-popular polygon form.

“In an industry accustomed to playing with pattern rather than shape, Fin, Feather, and Clipper stand out for their unique look and their dramatic interaction with light,” says Feras Irikat, director of design and marketing for Lunada Bay Tile. “The pearlescent water-like effect is soothing yet contemporary, ideal for setting a relaxing tone in the bath or infusing modern luxury in the kitchen.”

Twelve hues are available in Pearl or Silk finishes. Offerings comprise light, neutral tones (Moonlit, Zephyr, Elevation, and Sugar Cake); lush-terrain-inspired mid-tones (Bamboo Garden, Aurora, and Earthy); aquatic tones (Aero, Mineral Springs, and Intrigue); and darker hues (Mettle and Sani).

The tiles can be used for residential or commercial walls, including backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, and shower enclosures, in addition to light-traffic flooring.

Bosch GWS18V-45C 18V EC Brushless 4-1/2 in. Angle Grinder Has Day-to-Day Power in a Package That’s Connected Ready

Powerhouse cordless grinder includes advanced safety features as well

The Bosch GWS18V-45C 18V EC Brushless Connected-Ready 4-1/2 in. Angle Grinder delivers the convenience of cordless grinder operation with advanced user control. The grinder features an EC brushless motor that offers maximum efficiency and low maintenance, plus connected-ready capability that delivers next-generation control like maintenance review and performance notifications.

The Bosch GWS18V-45C grinder delivers outstanding performance, including metal cutting, thanks to the powerful EC Brushless motor design. This Bosch-exclusive design provides greater runtime and more power than similar cordless grinders with brushed motors. That means professionals can rely on a cordless grinder that delivers 10,000 no-load rpm, but doesn’t forego power in favor of maneuverability.

The grinder offers plug-in connected-ready capability by supplying an interface that works with the optional Bosch GCY30-4 Bluetooth® connectivity module. It provides next-generation user control by interfacing with the free Bosch Toolbox app on a mobile phone. Users can customize the grinder, changing the speed of the soft-start function, setting the brightness of the LED and receiving battery charge and KickBack Control status updates.

The grinder’s advanced electronics provide features including drop control, which shuts the tool off if dropped, and KickBack Control that shuts down the grinder’s motor should the tool become jammed. The grinder also has restart protection to prevent accidental start-up during battery insertion. Soft-start technology reduces start-up torque to ease into cuts.

“The Bosch GWS18V-45C grinder offers users the power they demand with additional safety and connectivity capabilities,” said Mike Iezzi, product manager, Robert Bosch Tool Corporation. “In the grinder market, it’s not enough to have just great power or outstanding maneuverability alone. A great tool brings both to the table and that’s what the GWS18V-45C does.”

The grinder features a two-position Vibration Control side handle, which provides greater control than previous generation Bosch cordless grinders. It also makes operation of the grinder less fatiguing for the user. The side handle can switch from left to right for additional control and a slim soft-grip design provides additional user comfort.

Bringing its Tile Offering to the Next Level: Artaic Launches New Product Line and Dealer Network with Acquisition of Terraferma

Artaic-Innovative Mosaic, designers and fabricators of custom, award-winning mosaic tile-work produced by its proprietary robots, has broadened its capabilities… again.

According to Dr. Ted Acworth, CEO Founder of Artaic, “We are pleased to announce that Artaic has acquired all assets of Terraferma USA, a firm specializing in large mosaic projects fashioned with high quality glazed porcelain and vitreous glass, and managed by seasoned tile industry professionals.”

Terraferma will maintain a separate identity under the Artaic company brand; President Emilio Garello becomes President of Terraferma by Artaic, while Terraferma’s founder, Gianni Meneghini, will assist Artaic as a strategic advisor.

By adding “Terraferma by Artaic,” Acworth’s firm is now able to offer a foundational running line – ideal for projects that demand sizable volumes of high-quality tile at competitive pricing. These new materials can be specified as “field tile” to be positioned alongside Artaic custom mosaic works throughout an entire construction project. Or, in conjunction with Artaic’s existing, comprehensive collection of stunning designs. “For years Artaic has been known for the beautiful centerpiece murals in a commercial or residential design, such as hotel lobbies”, says Acworth, “and now we can efficiently handle 500 hotel bathrooms as well.”

The addition of Terraferma also opens up the dealer/distributor channel to Artaic, and gets its custom mosaic solution work and design collections even more solidly entrenched into that arena.

“Terraferma delivers Artaic deep roots in the international mosaic tile market via its industry veterans,” Acworth continued. “Emilio and Gianni were looking to partner with an innovative mosaic provider. Specifically, one which could take their company to the next level in terms of design style and support and help them more aggressively expand a growing dealer network.  Together we will advance a shared commitment to exceptional quality, service and value. So, whether it’s fresh design collections, stunning custom work or unique running patterns at high volume, Terraferma by Artaic will deliver.

“We’ve hired all Terraferma’s staff members and will continue to operate the warehouse and production facility in Miami,” Acworth shared. “Our ultimate goal is frankly, to become the primary source synonymous with the word ‘mosaics.’  This acquisition brings Artaic closer to that objective, as we now offer virtually any solution relative to requests for the highest quality mosaic tile projects.”
